Reasons why you should read "Kill Me Softly"
"Kill Me Softly" is a entertaining and enjoyable book to read. It has the drama, love, romance, jealousy, and fictional twist. This book is one you will defiantly enjoy reading and will keep you entertained.
The drama in the story is love. Mirabelle loves Felix but Blue, his brother, likes Mirabelle also. There is more the drama when she finds out she is Sleeping Beauty and every one around her has curses. For example, "'Your tale is Sleeping Beauty, your role is the princess...'" (105.) Even the people she has known her whole life, she does not know who they are (or what they are).
In "Kill me Softly" there is jealousy in many parts of the book. Throughout the book Blue is protecting Mira from Felix but Blue also had a crush on Mira and does not want them together. The following example shows how Blue was jealous when Mira slept in the same bed as Felix, "'So what happened? He decided he wanted to play with you a little first?'"
"Kill Me Softly" is a quick moving book with different plot twists. Throughout the book there is a number of different twists you do not see coming. There is plot twist in her love life there is a plot twist about her family and her god mothers that has been raising Mirabelle, her whole life. To expand on the twist of her love life is when she starts to find out Felix's curse, "Romantics. Natural charmers who feed on love, drawing it from the lover's body through kisses and caresses that drain the lover's life force, often until there is nothing left," (165.)
It also has many elements of foreshadowing which makes it suspenseful. Before some of the twists happen, you can already see them coming, which situational irony. For example when Mira finds out about Felix being a romantic she does not want to believe it is true and keeps going on with the relationship when the reader knows that is a very bad idea. "'But...there has to be a way. You can't live without love.'" said Mira (174.)
